Remediations series is preoccupied with the lost sense of connection between textile products and labor that went into their production. The discarded garments are ‘remediated’ by simple dyeing processes using kitchen ingredients, followed by laborious cross stitching. While the function of the pieces is removed, their prior history remains traceable by the way they are folded to encourage consideration of labor they embody. 

The works elevate the pre-loved garments by incorporating the scraps, offcuts and threads gifted by the artist’s friends or found around her studio. The repetitive free form stitching process also serves as a form of self-care regarding overwhelming concerns for the textile waste coupled with recycling as a form of reparative action.
